about me

I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  I am a clinical supervisor at the Arab American Family Support Center. I have a Master's degree from New York University, a Master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and have been a graduate student and researcher at Teachers College, Columbia University.

I have a certificate in child and adolescent psychotherapy from the William Alanson White Institute for Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis -one of the top institutes in New York City.  I also have training in mindfulness and psychotherapy techniques as well as Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy techniques.

I work in both English and Arabic.

other engagements

I am the Executive Director of Circle OASIS, a program geared towards providing Americans of Arab descent with high quality, culturally sensitive psychological counseling services.  

I am also a co-editor of the UK-based online journal E-Cronicon for Psychology and Psychiatry.  In addition, I am a confl ict resolution specialist and come to the field of mental health following a fourteen-year career at the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations, where I was a political affairs officer. 

I am a published author and public speaker.
